Meet Charlie! - Holiday Tradtions

This is Charlie
On the first day of our advent, the Elf on the Shelf arrived at our house. He's our Christmas Elf. He's also known as Chippy from time to time. But his "official" name is Charlie.

If you aren't familiar with Elf on the Shelf.... it's a Christmas Tradition that the entire family will enjoy. It's a little doll elf and a cleverly rhymed children's book explains that Santa knows who is naughty and/or nice because he sends a scout elf to every home. During the Christmas season, the elf watches children by day and reports to Santa each night. When children awake, the elf has returned from the North Pole and can be found hiding in a different location. It's a fun little hide-and-seek game. There is only 1 rule, the children must never touch the elf. If they do, then the elves loose their Christmas magic and won't be able to return to the north pole.

Being that Dominic is just barely 2 years old. I didn't have the highest hopes of him understanding it, but we were presently surprised! He understands it all! And boy, does he get excited every morning to go searching for him!

And he knows not to touch the elf, even when it's placed
in tempting locations. ;o)

It's a new tradition we will be keeping in our family for years to come!

  1. I've seen that at Target, but didn't know what it was. That sounds really fun! I guess I will just have to get for Ewan next year!

  2. These will be great memories, but I just can't bring myself to do it here?!?

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment. I love and appreciate comments and read them all. Have a blessed day!
