*Happy Halloween!* - Weekend Update

It's been a roller coaster of a weekend...

Tony and I went to 2 Halloween Parties, then took the kids downtown for Trick-or-treating, and then we had Church, a ER visit, and  a visit from a locksmith. See what I mean?

I guess I'll start on Thursday. We had a check up with Dominic for the Mono. Praise God that he is 100% over the mono now! However, the boys allergies seemed activated. Sigh, and upon examining their ears, the doctor seemed to think that an ear infection with Dominic may soon await us. Talk about a crappy month for him?! More on this in a minute.

So, comes Friday, my best friend Kathleen threw a family friendly Halloween party at her place. We had Dominic spend the night with his Granna, and we took Giovanni with us. It was a lot more fun dealing with 1 kids over 2. And we were able to set up a pack-in-play in the other room and he slept through most of the party. Yep, another redneck set up.

Now for the fun part. I know you all are just dying to know what costumes Tony and I chose. Well, don't get too excited. We really couldn't decided on what to be. I wanted to be Octo-mom, but couldn't find 8 cheap baby dolls. Tony wanted to be zoidburg (sp?), but didn't have time to get the costume together. And we both turned down like 50 other options. So, we finally decided to go as ZOMBIES! Unfortunately, for this party, we didn't leave a lot of time to "properly" get ready, but we still managed to pull off some spooky looks. Mainly Tony, I kinda just looked sick. ;o/

The food was delicious! And some of the costumes were awesome! A friend of ours is in a wheelchair, due to ms. So, what did he go as? A ROLLER SKATE! How awesome!
Let's not forget to mention, that his date for the night, was his other "skate". So, they were a pair of Skates! Genius, I tell you, genius!

The first half of the night, we watched the Cardinals WIN the World Series!!! AMAZING! And then the second half we played the game, Curses. Seriously, this game is a must at any party! It's family appropriate, which with games today you just never know, and it's hilarious! My camera's batteries died, so the pictures didn't turn out well. Super disappointing. But it was such a fun night.

Our hosts for the night Black Swan & Jason!

We left the party around 11 and by time we got home, scrubbed off (and I mean SCRUB!) all the fake blood, Tony and I only got a few hours sleep before we had to get up for the downtown trick-or-treating. We literally felt like zombies. We soooo aren't big party animals.

The Downtown Trick-or-treating, so so much fun! We went with my friend Jessica and her little girl Dakotah. Dominic LOVED it! He even got into saying, "Trick-or-treat" and "Thank you" so softly! It was adorable! Giovanni, he would have rather been nursed the whole time or be snuggled up in bed sleeping. Ha!
My little Dinosaur and his "girl"friend Batgirl!
 Our adorable little puppy!
 5 minutes later...

"Forget this squash, I want that sucker!!"

It was such a great experience. All the businesses on the street had the trick-or-treating. Then on the street, they had free games for the kids and a ton of yummy food! It's great to live so close to some amazing festivities for the family!

Our ghostly hosts
Next up, we had the main event of the weekend. DATE NIGHT! Like an actual, just Tony & I night out, kid free! And what better way to spend it dressed up as zombies and headed to an adult only Halloween Bash! Now, let me just say, this was a party like no other. The whole house, and I'm talking the WHOLE house was decorated tastefully in Halloween decor. Every picture frame, every nick-nac, even most of the walls themselves were decorated. It was AMAZING! The food was to die for.. Ha. And the costumes everyone wore were hysterical!
A tiny preview of the amazing decor!
Tony & I decided to step out costume up a notch. So, he we are..
I'm a housewife zombie wife & he's my hard working white collar zombie husband. Together we are just trying to make it through this new life of ours. Ha!
Some friends all dressed up! So many amazing costumes! Gotta love the Roller derby "girls" Ha. Such a fun couple!
Our Pastor and his wife Julie as a Mariachi Band! So cool!
I totally didn't get pictures of everyone at the party. I missed some really good ones too. Some honorable mentions are Sock Monkey, Cruella Deville & her dalmatian, Santa Claus, Batgirl, road bump (she was pregnant!), Harry Potter, Hippie, Raggedy Anne, and so many more!

And the cool part was, that they hold a costume contest and everyone votes. There were three categories; Scariest, Funniest, and Best Overall. And the winners got AMAZING prizes! Brilliant!

Now, that's pretty the great part..Sunday, it all went down hill. Dominic & Giovanni got colds, but seemed to be doing okay, then Dominic woke up from his nap Screaming for 2-3hours nonstop and burning up. This was obviously, not normal. Considering what the doctor had told me. I figured it to be an ear infection. Called the doctor exchange, which should be call the nurse exchange, because they agreed it sounded like an ear infection, but they couldn't call in anything for him. Well, I'm not going to sit at home watching my baby cry out in pain, so we packed up the car and headed to Urgent care. It indeed was an ear infection. His first one ever, at almost 2 years old!

This has not been his month. He has never had more than a cold and he get tonsillitis, mono, AND a ear infection all in one month! Poor little guy! Thankfully, after just 1 dose of medicine he seemed to be back to normal. So, I think we caught it early. Then, after coming home from the hospital, Tony lock our keys (both pairs) in the car! Ah, so we had to call a locksmith to come and open our doors.

It definitely was a weekend to remember! And now it's Halloween! Not sure what we are going to do tonight. Probably going to play it safe and only take the boys by the grandparents houses. We don't want any more illness in this house! We are determined that November WILL be a better month! :)

What does having 2under2 look like?

- Feeding the baby, while reading a book to the toddler

- Telling you husband that I'll take this one, if you take the other

- Playing cars on mommy's & daddy's bed, so we don't wake the baby

- Having more playdates at our house

- Pushing double strollers, changing 2 different size diapers, and folding twice as many clothes

- Breastfeeding the baby, while chasing after the toddler

- Giving in and letting your toddler watch cartoons, while you fold the laundry

- Putting off bath time until tomorrow

- Staying up later just to have some "me time" or to have some conversations with the hubby

- Feeling accomplished when the house is clean, the boys are dressed, and no one is crying, when the hubby gets home from work

- Using 2 carts at the store, so you have room for the groceries

- Taking the toddler to the bathroom with me, so he doesn't jump on his brother or try to feed him his snacks

- Hearing, "You got your hands full," just about everywhere we go

- Struggling to balance time a lone for each of them

- Reading 10 books with two little ones on your lap

- Getting the boys on the same napping schedule, so you can have one yourself!

- No longer being ashamed to breastfeed anywhere, just to get out of the house

But mostly it's discovering that the BIGGEST scariest surprise of your life, turned into the BIGGEST BLESSING!

Is have two kids under 2 years, only 15 months apart hard work? Absolutely! But it also is absolutely amazing and I would do it over again if I had the chance.

Adventures at the Pumpkin Farm

We are in the heart of fall, which means it's time for the Pumpkin Farm! Not to mention it's been such amazing weather, and Dominic is completely back to himself from the mono,so it was definite go. We actually went twice! Having the two little ones makes it too hard to resist all the extremely cheap fun activities!

We first made the trip with my family.
The sweetest picture of my niece and Dominic. They truly are best friends.
Playing in a giant corn"box". Whoever thought of this, is a pure genius!
Waiting patiently to aboard the train.
Random favorites of my two nieces, sister-in-law, and Dominic
Yep, that would be my niece hanging out. I'm just happy to say it wasn't my kid. ;)
Feeding the goats. They were hungry little creatures

There was so much to see and such little time, we decided to head back. I didn't take my camera, but I manged to get some cute pictures with my cell phone. Thank God for smart phones!

Playing in the sandbox for the first time. Giovanni loves different textures.
Who wants to ride 1 tractor, when you can ride 2??!?!? :o)

And I must say, having two little ones makes the approaching holidays so exciting! Although, the best years are yet to come, I'm sure.

It's Friday!

It's been a long night..The kids slept great..I did not. Go figure. But it's FRIDAY! That means, Tony can watch the kids tomorrow and I can sleep in!...Well, I can hope anyway. ;o) I saw this on a friends blog and thought I would fill them out too. It's simple and fun, and doesn't require a lot of thinking. Ha. Feel free to leave your answers below!

Where do you escape to when you’ve had enough?
Mindless stuff on the internet or a Sudoku puzzle. It's lame but true.

What shows are you watching this Fall?
Ugh..I am really dissapointed in all the new shows this season. But when we're home, we watch my old favorites, Law & Order SVU, Criminal Minds, Big Bang Theory, In the Middle, and the only new show I watch, suburgatory. And if we remember to watch it, Fringe. That is it folks.

What was the longest road trip you’ve ever taken and where did you go?
We did this twice when I was younger, family road trips to Las Vegas & California, the scenic route.  Coming from St. Louis, that is a long trip. And I was the youngest, so I always go the worst seats. They are lasting memories though, and I hope to do trips like this with my boys one day.

Do you plan on taking your kids to Disney World?
Yep, we have close friends that live in Florida, and we are hoping in the next year or so, to go down and visit them and take a small trip to Disney world.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
If you know me well, then this would be no big surprise, but if you haven't, you will be shocked to know I have broken 13 bones! Yep, I'm a bit "accident prone." But, 6 of those happened in the car accident.

Just a reminder, I’m linking up with others for Five Question Friday and I don’t make up the questions. Click on the button above to see a linky list of others also participating. Be sure and share your answers below too!

Thankful Thursday!

1. Overtime Pay - Tony has been working the last couple Saturdays for a project he's on at work. It stinks, but I am just so thankful for all the overtime pay. It comes in handy with Dominic's upcoming birthday & Christmas!

2. Small Group - I just recently joined a new small group at our church, and I am so happy I did. About a month or so ago, I had a reality check. Nothing really happened. I just came to the realization that I needed to center my life back to God again.

It seems that God was on the same page as my old small group disbanded and a new opportunity for another one arose. It's been a blessing. We are reading a new book, and it's amazing. It's called Skrewtape. (I will do a review on this later.) But a very powerful mind and faith challenging book. I finally feel my spiritual life growing again, with the help of this small group of women, and it's only been a few meetings. That's the blessing of a small group for sure.

3. One of my closest friend's Kathleen. She and I have been best friends since I was born, literally. But lately I really value our friendship and time together. As she we are getting older and married with kids, it's harder to get together, but even if we haven't seen each other in weeks, we pick up right where we left off. She is such an amazing caring person. She tells me like it is, she laughs with me in the good times, and is she is always there when I need her most, and I think it's so important to have a best friend like her. But, she's more than a friend, she's a Sister.

And let's not forgot, she talked me into getting this little peacock feather in my hair.... lol... Thanks Kathleen!

Our you feeling thankful? Then share it! I'm linking up with The Wife of a Dairyman and Spiritually Unequal Marriage

Giovanni's 7th Month Update

Weight: 17lbs (clothed)
Length: ???
*We go to the doctor at the end of the month. I'll update then.

Our little man turned 7 months old this past Sunday! This past month he just exploded with a bunch of new milestones. And he's gotten so active. He's ready to get down and play with his brother! He's in size 2 diaper and size 3-6 month clothes, but I imagine he'll be moving up to 6-9 month clothes in a couple of weeks. He still takes good naps, but is starting to get up during the middle of the night again, around 4, eats and goes back to bed. Considering he goes to bed around 6:30, I guess that's not too bad. But it's still exhausting.

He's mobile! Although, we've seen him crawl the "normal" way of crawling, he prefers to frog leap his way around. He loves rocking back and forth on his knees and then making the plunge forward. It really is fun to watch. He gets around pretty good, just not very fast. This is my favorite "baby stage". They can play on the floor, but they don't really get into everything yet. Ah..if only it would last.

He's such a happy baby. He smiles at everyone and squeals with excitement. Although, he is a quiet baby. We can take him everywhere, and you probably wouldn't know we had him with us. I'm wondering if that will change? Hmm.. And oh the funny faces he makes. He does this funny face and then huffs and puffs out of his nose. It cracks us up! It's pretty cute to watch.

We're working on some mommy anxiety issues. He doesn't want to leave my side. And if he's held by someone else (daddy, grandma, friend) and he sees me, he will push the person away and reach for me. It's hard, but at the same time, I know how quickly this time fades, so I'm trying to enjoy every second of it. Now onto the fun stuff!

-Cut his two bottom teeth!

-First solids

-Waves, but doesn't do it consistently yet. (Oh and it's the beauty pageant wave. he he)

-Crawls, but prefers to frog leap :)

-Self feeds baby puffs (found this out by

-Can drink from a straw

Sophie the Giraffe
Crinkly toys
The movie cars (can you tell he has an older brother?)
Summer infant booster seat
Playing on the floor

Swing (we're ready to put it in storage!)
Not being around, near, or held by mommy...

Giovanni is now nicknamed "the tank"! This boy LOVES food! So far he's tried sweet peas, Carrots, Sweet potatoes, Rice Cereal, oatmeal, and pumpkin. ;o) We will be starting him on some fruit and the rest of the vegetables real soon. He eats only once a day right now, but will be moving him to twice a day soon. He eats two jars full, done to the last drop. He's still breastfed and takes the bottle with no hassle at all! This Monday, we gave him so baby puffs (sweet potato) and he really enjoyed them. It's so cute to watch him get so excited over food.

Of course let's not forget the pictures!
Showing off those two little teeth of his!
He's waving back at me, wondering why I'm waving at him. He he.
It's proving to be more and more difficult taking these pictures. It seems that Gio, has bigger priorities. ;o)

Wordless Wednesday - Our Little Pumpkin!

Dominic was only 3 weeks for his his first Christmas, so we thought it would be cute to stick him in his stocking for a sweet picture. For Giovanni, since he will be too big for a stocking, we thought we would carve a pumpkin and take a picture with him in it, for his first Halloween.

Here's our little pumpkin! Happy 7 months, baby G!

Surprisingly, he loved it in there. Although, as you can see below..he enjoyed trying to eat the pumpkin. I gotta feeling he will be a pumpkin pie lover, like his parents.
One more, because it's so hard to choose!

Giovanni's 7th month update coming soon!
