He was just a little over 13 months. Unfortunately, mama missed it! :( We were at church and I was working in the office, and he was getting loved on in the sanctuary from some of our church family. It's bittersweet missing such a huge milestone, but I got to witness a 'reenactment' a few minutes later!
The little stinker has yet to let me get it on camera though, so I'm carrying our flip cam. around where ever we go to catch it! :) I believe our life is about to get a whole lot more exciting!
And since I don't have any videos of him walking, I'll insert this cute little one from just a couple of hours from the big event! I think he feels pretty accomplished! ;)
It's April and in this house it means one thing, SPRING CLEANING! That's right, I'm clearing out the closests, the toy room and all the nooks and crannies. We are getting ready for one massive yard sale! It's crazy to think that just 4 1/2 years ago we entered this house with just a few boxes and a mattress, and now it's busting at the seems. God has definitely blessed us!
And while I was doing some Spring cleaning, I found this! Apparently, I bought it at a yard sale and stored it, and forgot all about it. (Total reason why we need to do Spring Cleaning!) I set it up in between all the crazy piles of yard sale junk in the living room and ALL the boys went to town. ;) Yes, that's my hubby in there. He's such a big kid. :P The boys loved it, so, it just might make the cut and stay...
Last Wednesday, I sent Giovanni to his Granna's house and took Dominic to the St. Louis zoo to spend with our cousin, Joey and his parents. They are the same age to the day. It was great having that one on one time with Dominic.
Big kitty..Nice Kitty...
His new favorite, was the snakes!
"Ewww, the turtles are fighting!!"
Um sure Dominic..that's what they are doing. LOL.
No need for the nature channel, when you have this next door!
I suspect we will be going to the zoo a lot this Summer. The boys love it and it's free family fun!
Wow, thank you to everyone who has stopped by recently and subscribed. I am blown away by all the comments from new and old posts. Thank you!
For those who aren't aware. I tend not to blog on the weekends (Saturday & Sunday), unless I have a post already written. We are usually busy and what time I do have, is spent on family time. Yesterday, Monday, I planned to catch up with everyone, but the internet was down in our area. So, I am so sorry if you have commented or subscribed and I haven't commented yet. I will! Just give me time. :)
When I was a child playing house, I always pretended my baby dolls were little girls. They wore pretty little dresses and colorful bows, that's every little girls fantasy, right? So, naturally, when I found out I was pregnant I was anxiously waiting to hear, if we were having a little boy or girl, secretly hoping for a girl. Oh how I anticipated dressing 'her' up in frilly little dresses. But God knew what was best for our family, and He blessed us with two amazing little boys! I love them with my all my heart. Looking back, it wasn't that I didn't desire a baby boy, it was that they were foreign to me. And the responsibility of raising little boys that would someday grow into men, is frightening!
My desire for our boys is that they are men who are God following, hardworking, trustworthy, kind, loyal, confident, respectful, and happy. I'm their mother, one of the key influential people that will shape them into the men they will one day be in this world. That's a HUGE responsibility! This adventure called parenting is scary. But by the grace of God I'm NOT alone. I married to a man, who is everything I want our boys to be like. With God's direction, we will walk this path of life together and nurture our boys one day at a time. There will be struggles and tears along the way, but faith, love and laughter will see us through.
“The family should be a closely knit group. The home should be a self-contained shelter of security; a kind of school where life’s basic lessons are taught; and a kind of church where God is honored; a place where wholesome recreation and simple pleasures are enjoyed.” - Billy Graham
If you are new to my blog, welcome! This is my scrapbook of our life; the ups and downs and in between. I'm a brave mom of two little boys who are 2 years & 12 months. They are only 15 months apart, so life gets crazy at times. But they are my world. I'm also married to a self proclaimed geek, who is the love of my life and best friend. Together we concur this thing called life, one dirty face at a time.
*Who doesn't love a good party? I do! So, I decided to join the 2012 Ultimate Blog Party over at 5MinutesforMom.com. I love meeting new moms and finding great blogs, if you do to, then check it out!
Giovanni turned 1year on March 16th, It's hard to believe he's already a year!! Well, almost 13 months now. Oops!
He is such a sweet heart. He gives hugs and kisses. He's just about always smiling. And that smile of his just lights up a room. He's in mainly 6-9month clothes, size 3 diapers, and size 3 shoes. Yep, he's a little guy, but oh so perfect!
He is our little explorer. He wants to go check out his surroundings. His new favorite thing is to stand on his head and look around. :) He LOVES the outdoors too. He is completely amused with his big brother and laughs at just about everything he does. He cruises on everything, and constantly turns his back to an object and lean up against it and stands there, so he can better play with his toys in his hands. Silly boy. He watches our mouths and tries so hard to talk. And if you say "I love you." He will mimic the same jabber sounds back. So cute! He can stand by himself for a few seconds, but isn't really interested in learning to walk yet. He's a joy and we praise God that he's apart of our family.
-Standing by himself, hands free
-Says new words: Ball, coo-keee (cookie), wow, I did,
-On his birthday he had 6 total teeth, he now however has 8! (4 on top & 4 on bottom)
- Had whole milk for the first time
-Likes- Mickey Mouse, all fruits, any toys with wheels, books, playing peek-a-boy, getting sung to, all his new toys (especially the Swirl n twirl fun park), and playing outside
-Dislikes- bath time(mainly getting his hair washed), really loud flavors, most noodles
We BREASTFED for a YEAR!! So excited to say that again! We are still going strong at almost 13 months. He feeds between 4-5 times a day. I've decided to wait to wean until he's ready (within reason). He eats 3 meals a day with a couple of snacks. He's become totally picky though. BOO! He'll eat any fruits, but won't eat a lot of veggies, and he HATES pasta! Someone needs to remind him that his name is Giovanni, and with a name like that he needs to learn to love Italian food. Ha!
Since it's his final monthly tie photo, I did several comparison collages too.
12 months old!
Month By Month!
Last by not least..the boys at the same age and same outfit!
We had Tony's sister and and family in town this weekend. We went to the zoo, dyed Easter eggs, went swimming, went to church, and had Easter celebrations. It was just a crazy busy weekend, but oh so much fun!
Some of the grandkids..

A hug for taking him to see the giraffe's. It's his favorite animal!
Gasp me with glass! :P
Looking at animals is a tiring job!
Never give a baby an egg to color..
Koolaid packets make the most vibrant colors!!
Giovanni's first time swimming! I'd say he enjoyed it!
The Easter bunny came! He must have hit up a big sale on much needed outdoor toys..
Checking out the baskets..
Giovanni wouldn't go out into the grass to hunt eggs...he just stayed right there and watched his big brother. lol!
Our handsome Italian little men.
It really is not easy taking candy from babies..
It was a wonderful crazy weekend. Although it was great having family in town, I think we'll take this week to relax and recover. :)
Welcome! I'm Rachel. My life is surrounded by men. It's all about cars, Super heroes, and remote controls. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm a wife and a mother of 3 little boys, and a business owner trying to find balance.
This is our crazy, hectic, incredibly blessed journey we call our life.
