WW: Party on the Farm

This past weekend we were invited to a friend's little girls' birthday party on a local farm. One thing is for sure, the boys had fun and were in heaven with all that dirt!  ;)
This is the face of a good time!

Goodbye Old Faithful...Hello Big Beast!

This weekend I said my goodbyes to my very first DSLR camera, a Pentax K-X and welcomed in a new member.

Goodbye Old Faithful.

And hello BIG BEAST!

This bad boy is a Nikon D7000!

Talk about an upgrade!
It blows my old pictures away, just in auto!

Here's a couple test shots from a birthday party we went to on a farm. These were on auto and no editing! I'm in love! It's a bit of a difference going from Pentax to Nikon, but I can say I'm glad I made the switch. I can already tell this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship! ;)

Crazy or Not, Here We Come!

We're packing up the suitcases, getting on a plane,
 and going to DISNEY WORLD!!

*Image from Orlando

 It's not for a couple more months...BOO!!

Are we crazy?!? We're going to Disney World with a 1.5 & almost 3 year old.. I'm going to go out on a limb and say WE ARE! But, we're Paolucci's, we strive for family adventure, we got this!! It's going to be 7 nights and 8 days of pure excitement and a bit of mayhem! Thankfully, we are going with my parents and my brother and his family, so reinforcement is coming. ;)

Now, that I've announced how crazy we are, I'm letting you guys know that I will be documenting the experience (planning, packing, flying, money savors and Disney!) to share with others who are preparing to join in on the craziness and experience Disney World with two little ones!

Planting Seeds... VBS 2012!

I've gotten behind on keeping up with everyone, but with good reason. This past week I had the wonderful opportunity to help serve in our church's Vacation Bible School!

It was AWESOME! The music was enjoyable, the crafts were fun, the lessons were meaningful, and we even got to serve the community! It was just overall a great experience by all who participated!

The best part was seeing the Holy Spirit at work in these kids lives. I can't wait to see what God does with the seeds that have been planted this past week!

Relay For Life. Relay for a Cure.

We recently had the opportunity to go to a Rely for Life rally. It was truly amazing. My family has been hit hard with loss from Cancer and Tony's mom is a Lung Cancer survivor. Seeing all the lanterns lined up, was shocking. It struck home the importance of raising money for a cure.

These are the lives affected in our family.
My two grandma's, aunts, a cousin, and a dear family friend.

Cancer steals.
Cancer hurts.
Cancer MUST be STOPPED.

If you would like to help, go to and donate to stop this life shattering disease!

Boy Mom Blog Hop! - (Re-Introduction)

Hi! Welcome to our crazy life.

You never know what you'll find here, but one things for certain, there will most likely be pictures! I'm no professional by any means, I just like capturing moments with the kids.

Let me introduce us.

I'm Rachel. I'm 27 year young. I'm a stay at home mom and house wife. Although, I also work at our church a few hours a week. I married my sweetheart, Tony, who just turned 30! He's a self proclaimed geek. We have two crazy little boys, 15 months apart; Dominic and Giovanni. (Can't tell we're Italian, can you?)
It was a crazy adventure having kids. It took us 15 months and the beginning steps of fertility treatments get pregnant with our oldest, and only an accident to have our youngest. God is good.

Let's Meet the BOYS!

Dominic is our oldest. He is 2.5 year young. He's our strong willed, smart, super fast, hilarious, blond headed little Super Boy (Totally into super heroes!). He just got potty trained last month and moved into a big boy bed on the 4th.

Giovanni is 16 months today! He's our go with the flow, climbs on top of everything, smart, laid back, super tan ,little brown haired baby boy. He learned to climb before he walked. He is still nursing and we just made the switch to cloth diapers.

I blog about anything and you never know what you might find here. I share our lives, my faith and feelings, our fun activities and the basic survival guides to living with 2 young boys so close in age. Add in a dash of humor and wordless Wednesdays, and that sums up That's Life...  ;o)

So please stop, look around, and leave a comment. Let's get to know each other and work together to get through this thing call life.

Who Says 2 Year Olds Can't Bake?

Never give a 2 year old a blender, unless you enjoy cleaning up batter off the ceiling! ;)
Dominic made them, my nieces decorated them, and I ate them! ;)
 Good deal!

My Friday Night Excitement..

Yep, I'm stuffing diapers!

Even though these are super cute, it's not what I planned to be doing. We were supposed to be going on our first family camping trip this weekend, instead I got food poisoning (or just ate something that didn't agree with me)and got super sick. Boo! I'm feeling somewhat better this evening, just a nasty headache. So hopefully, the weekend will shape up better. Anyone have good weekend plans?

Family Portrait through the eyes of a 2.5 Year Old

It's a joy, as a parent, to be able to completely surprise your child with a fun activity. I set up this paint station for the boys, as a surprise when they woke up from their nap. Giovanni wanted absolutely no part of it. *Sigh* But Dominic gleamed with excited! He painted two paintings, one of which was his very first family portrait!
Painting is serious business! ;)

The Finished product: Our beautiful family portrait!
He says, and I have it recorded, that Mommy is yellow, Daddy is red, Vanni is Green and he is blue! It's so cute to see how he sees us.

Looking Back, Moving Forward A Year Later

A year ago today, we came home with the boys to find our house had been broken into and we were robbed. It was such a horrible feeling. A ton of bricks hit us and we felt violated and stripped of our safety and sanctuary. I'd like to say that a year later, we are normal again, but I just can't. I'm not saying we still feel what we felt on that afternoon, but we're not the same as we were. I don't know if it's because we are in the same house, or city, but I just don't feel 100% safe in our home anymore, even with our new top of the line security system. I'm on guard.

I grew up in super safe neighborhood. The front door was always open and a worry never crossed our minds. Now, every time we leave, we "secure" the house. Our sanctuary has melted away and a fort was put in it's place. I've become cautious of my neighbors, I lock up our valuables, and even canvas the neighborhood before we take off. It's crazy.

But in all of this though, there is good that has prevailed. We may never be the same again, but who says that's all bad? We are stronger. We've grown closer as a family unit.  We've learned that even when you think you lost the most precious belongings, you haven't. In the end, things are just things, and they don't really matter. We now place our priorities where they matter.

"When you are in the final days of your life, what will you want? Will you hug that college degree in the walnut frame? Will you ask to be carried to the garage so you can sit in your car? Will you find comfort in rereading your financial statement? Of course not. What will matter then will be people. If relationships will matter most then, shouldn't they matter most now?" — Max Lucado

God is still good.
